Her gün ayrıldığıma pişman oluyorum.

Definitely- first get your GED (should not be that difficult, just a test) then

    – look into certifications, Dental hygiene, radiology tech, etc (could pull in 80k a year easily) or also look into becoming a behavior tech first (40k starting) then getting degrees to becoming a behavior analyst (100k+) or even nursing start a CNA –> LPN —> RN (another path to making around 100k). All of these do not require getting a bachelor’s degree for four years first, these are paths that take 2-3 max with job certainty at the end of it.

26 is still crazy young honestly. You didn’t waste your life, you just put all your eggs into one thing and now you’re waking up to reality. Plenty of people restart at 30, 40, even later.

Hey I had a generally similar path, but was told I couldn’t follow my dream of music. I just incorporated my music into work. See if you can’t teach music somehow. I ended up as a singing teacher.

My friend. 26 is still very young. To put that into perspective, I wasted 15 years of my life doing drugs. Hard-core addict, life ruining drugs. I got my shit together at 38. I promise, 26 is not too late. You’ve got this. 💜

I have a lot of respect for people that follow their dreams, regardless of the outcome. You followed your heart, you should be proud.

Of course there’s a chance, a big chance unless you literally do nothing to change your situation. And eventually, you’ll be emotionally and financially stable enough where you can pick rapping back up on the side or as a hobby. You never have to lose that part of you.

It is important that you do not lose hope, there are endless paths in front of you, but it is important that you take your education seriously

My buddy & I pursued music longer than we prob should have. I think we were ~26 when we started classes at a local community college. Do a Liberal Arts. That’s what you do when you know you should be in school but not sure what you wanna do yet. Lib Arts buys you time to think about what you might wanna do WHILE you’re in school. You’ll transfer a lot of credits that way when you pick a major & do your last 2 years (at a 4-yr school). We both did Lib Arts then went to Rutgers (at 29) & got our comp-sci degrees. My 1st job (this was ’99) started at $42,500. New hires now start $90 – 110K.

You are still young. Do not compare yourself to others. Everyone walks their own path and at their own pace in this life. Focus on what you want and make a plan on how to get there. Don’t be afraid to ask advice from others.

Did the exact same thing at those exact same ages. While I didn’t go to uni yet, I have a good job (3 years now) and things are cool. The only bothering thing is the “dammit, I could have done this earlier”, but it doesn’t matter. Turning 30 in a month

Hey! You’re so young! Imagine having a random job and questioning what would happened if you pursued music? That ambiguity and regret would be much harder on your psyche. Now you have this skill, get another one! I’m curious what kind of music you do?

My brother took a very similar path to you, he wanted to be a rapper and was in and out living with my parents til he was practically 26, he got a job manufacturing medical devices and is doing great now at 27. you can absolutely come back from this man, and good job for trusting yourself with music for so long that takes guts that most people don’t have, but unfortunately it simply doesn’t pay the bills 99.9% of the time, this doesn’t mean you need to lop off that part of yourself, it just means you need to do some research on good CAREER opportunities in your area with high pay, and do your music in the free time. Trade apprenticeships is a great thing to get into, leverage the people you know and the contacts you have to find a solid cash cow. Ask around, you can make it out of this rut quick. Also yes probably get your GED. There’s people starting from 0 at 40. You’re doing good man.

Vincent Van Gogh was a known failure during his entire life. It wasn’t until after he died that he became famous and well renowned.

Dude, you are on your own path and timeline. Try not to look at other people’s lives and judge yours by it. It’s hard but there are aspects of their lives that are also filled with confusion or pain even if u can’t see it from a distance.

If you’re feeling like this .. maybe it’s time for a pivot .. if you’re not seeing the fruit of your labor with music. That could be either changing how you’re getting your music out there and trying something else … or just doing music AND getting your GED .. AND then pursuing something to continue growing that other part of you. Doesn’t have to be that you give up music. Maybe you take a break and save up to be able to record at your apartment instead … save money on studio time and find a way to still do what u love.

Be the coach who guides. You gotta find other ways to monetize what you’ve learned so far. Maybe start an instagram page where you showcase your music and start giving online tuitions to people.
I know easier said than done. But know that you did something you loved, and surely you didn’t waste your years learning something you loved.

Maybe figure out what part of the music industry you’re best at and try to lean into it. Like I’m sure you’ve gained a lot of knowledge in other areas right?

You must have built a lot of skills if you’ve been working on music for 9 years? Maybe your path is music, but not in a way you thought.
