   Probably a pretty good idea to go op. It’s a very good career that beats a lot of normal careers. Look into the specifics of course but going back at 30 wouldn’t be that bad given the long term pay off.

   Just finished CS at 32, my biggest take away is being honest about your aptitude. Doesn’t mean just give up cause it’s hard but it can take its toll always having to keep up.

   not stupid at all. the psychiatrist that first showed me a human can care for another human without judgement and provide hope for them, continually reminded me he didn’t even go to college until his 30’s. He was an MD psychiatrist and a damn brilliant one, I mean genuinely changed my life not just by caring but by actually being an amazing doctor. If you’re passionate about it you should do it. 30 is nothing.

   Did you drop out?

   I dropped out of med school after my second year. This haunted me for a long time, and I’ve just recently come to terms with it, although I’ve since had an amazing life as a TV journalist and traveled to every continent, even Antarctica. I got to experience things I never would have had I not dropped out.

   30 is not too old, but it will much harder for you than fot your younger peers.

   Nope.

   Knew one person went to medschool in their 30’s mid.

   Another they were 40.

   So you’ll be a nontraditional student, which is good for personal statement and secondaries.

   You can be I’m guessing 34 and a doctor or 34 and not a doctor. Even at 34 you have 31 years before retirement. Shit I’m 45 and thinking about going back to school because I still have 20 YEARS.

   You can do it for sure. Be ready though. It’s like jumping into a submarine, at least for the first 2 years.

   If you have the drive, discipline and aptitude for it. Then you should, it’s a noble job, we will always need more doctors. Good luck.
