Normal to job hop in your 20s yes, not ideal to stay in that phase and not make an effort to upskill, get promotions, higher paying jobs, etc

You’re making more than my 25 year old girlfriend who is a manager at her job. You’re doing quite well, keep grinding, never settle, always be ready to jump on the next opportunity

Gotta start somewhere. Don’t feel compelled to jump headfirst into something just because you feel you have to. But also don’t get complacent where you’re at currently.

Meh, I think it’s probably better than getting a degree in career that will be replaced by Ai in a few years like me💀. Im the same age and all my friends besides the two who have super rich parents dropped out of school. I think as long as you can tolerate your job and it funds the kind of life ya want to live, it’s fine. I do have some friends who become overly complacent in their shitty jobs and won’t even bother to try and learn another skill tho. But its understandable because these same friends are caught in survival mode and have no energy left to even think about change.

Yes, it can be normal to have nothing more than a series of jobs. My brother, now 64, has been that way his whole life. He owns a house, has a job with benefits, and has managed to get some savings for his retirement, but it took him a while to achieve all that. That’s because many of his previous jobs had only an hourly wage without benefits. I think you’re further ahead at 20-something than he is at 64.

It is possible that by knocking around and working different jobs you will find something to your liking that you can build a life on. Remember, a job is only a means to an end. It is a way to fund the life you want for yourself. It doesn’t have to cause great passion within your soul. It just has to provide a living and not stress you out. Take that better opportunity at the warehouse, but if it isn’t quite what you were looking for, keep your eyes open and keep looking.

The other thing you should learn is that the life you want is built over time. Saving and living within your means will get you just as far as a fancy degree and big career can, since those things usually also include big debts and expensive possessions that require $$ to service.

My kid just graduated high school and wants to take a gap year. They thought I would be upset but naw. I told them the thing they need to learn is to pivot. Life is more than likely to knock you down at some point. You can stay in the mud or make a choice to pivot into something new. No mud, no lotus.

I was recently let go from my unicorn job. I don’t have a formal degree and I have been thinking about what I am gonna do next. There are so many options and I am overwhelmed by choice. I would gather that is similar to how you are feeling. I don’t think there is a right choice, but listen to your gut.

As for the people around you and them getting degrees and starting families. That is the path they are choosing. Be it based on society norms or what they think is expected of them, that is their choice to make. Don’t make choices based upon what others think. It’s your life, no one can tell you how you feel as each person’s experiences are unique.

In my early 20s I worked at bars, coffee shops, retail and warehouses. Also, I worked for an airline for a time that I thought was gonna be my career but I showed up late too many times and was fired. I’m not fond of corporate America after my recent experience but some people thrive in that.

I always hoped I would find something that sticks. That brought me joy. At this point in my life, I just want to be able to afford the things that bring me joy. That means housing, my car, gas for said car, food and some spending money. I have a little bit of savings, but not much.

I have a friend that owns his house, has 500k in the bank, works at a warehouse job and is miserable in his life. I’ll take what little I have over that everyday. Choose happiness and be kind to your fellow humans. Make time for the things that bring you joy and smile at strangers. How you make ends meet is up to you. If it’s a dead end job or not doesn’t really matter if you are happy.

    For me it was.

I painted like apartments and homes, carried shingles for roofing,
Worked at a plywood plant, installed counter tops, and worked for family doing horizontal directional drilling for utilities.

I did the HDD for 15 years.

It’s normal but if you’re not gaining skills or anything that will help you be stable in the future you might want to consider looking into those
