I REALLY enjoy nicotine withdrawal

I have been purposefully getting addicted to vaping and quitting over the last 5 years. The addiction isn’t the fun part it’s the quitting. For whatever reason it makes me feel sharp and like emotional? Like music hits so much harder and I enjoy talking to people more and the sleep is soooo good too. I still have some negative effects like a mild headache and slight brain fog but for the most part I love the experience. What is happening in my brain when this happens?

I actually relate to this. Mild withdrawals from various substances can be strangely refreshing, probably because you’re coming back from numbing your true feelings.

Some people do this kind of thing with harder stuff, I think I’ve heard that there are some shamanic rituals where l someone takes a medicine for a while, with the goal being the withdrawals.

My personal experience as someone currently detoxing from opiates after the millionth time it feels like definitely knows that out of place seeming seed of joy that truly is a gift given to ppl that suffer from addiction, it can be healing.

But right now it’s a little overwhelming. Everything makes me cry, music, books. Outside.
