6 Rakamlı Maaş Getirebilecek “Sınırlı Öğrenmeye” Sahip Bir Kariyer Var mı?
Herkese merhaba,
Son zamanlarda kariyer seçimlerim üzerinde düşünüyorum ve gerçekten bazı tavsiyelere ihtiyacım var. Bir süredir hedefim bir teknoloji işine girmek ve 6 haneli bir maaş elde etmekti, bu yüzden 2 yıldır üniversitede okuyorum ve Bilgisayar Bilimleri alanında AA derecemi almak üzereyim. Henüz pek fazla pratik şey öğrenmedim – belki bu BS sırasında gelir – ama işte buradayım.
İlk başta programcı olmak istiyordum. Ancak iyice düşündükten sonra programlamanın bana göre olmadığını fark ettim. Beni korkutan şey, çok fazla öğrenmenin gerekli olmasıydı: birden fazla dil, algoritma, mantık, tam kapsamlı geliştirme, çerçeveler… hepsi sadece bir işte şans elde etmek için. Ve o zaman bile iş güvenliği garanti edilmez.
Şimdi sistem yönetimi veya ağ oluşturmayı düşünüyorum. BT’yi denemek için A+ sertifikamı almayı planlıyorum. Ancak bunun gerçekten aradığım şeyle uyumlu olup olmadığından hala emin değilim.
Yakın zamanda ChatGPT’den bir kariyerde tam olarak ne istediğimi tanımlayan bir terim öğrendim: “sınırlı öğrenme”. Temel olarak, sürekli olarak düzinelerce yeni teknoloji veya kavramın peşinde koşmadan, temel becerilere hakim olabileceğim ve son derece yetkin olabileceğim bir alan istiyorum. Örneğin kaynak yapmak: Torcu doğru kullanmayı öğrendiğinizde ve tekniği öğrendiğinizde hayata hazırsınız demektir. Gelişmeye devam edebilirsiniz ancak temeller her ay değişmeye devam etmez.
Yani sorularım şunlar:
1. Are network or systems IT careers like this? Would I be able to “master” the core skills without endless, constant learning?
2. What other career paths might fit this idea of bounded learning while still having the potential to reach a 6-figure salary?

There is absolutely nothing in technology that fits “bounded learning” unless you are a developer supporting old legacy tech and applications that a company can’t pivot away from. Even old mainstays like networking is changing with the focus change to the cloud. Tech careers are constant learning. You will never have to stop learning and adapting with new technology, new languages, and changes. Much of the time, you will need to make the effort yourself to stay on top of new concepts and technologies and business requirements.
Let me say this – it’s a fucking insult to welders for you to presume that they don’t need to learn anything at all once they’ve mastered their core skills. Hopefully you don’t say shit like this irl because its a one way ticket to get people to think you’re obnoxious. People who work with their hands constantly need to brush up their skills to stay employed. There is no half decent career where you get to work with your mind turned off once you’ve learned the “core skills”. Willingness to constantly learn and curiosity is one of the key characteristics to get paid well and climb up the ladder. Regardless of what your job is.
On the other hand, it’s also true that software engineering is on the extreme end where you have to constantly keep track of new updates to technologies and also learn entirely new technologies. I’ll assume that you don’t want to get a brain dead job, you just meant that you don’t want something as extreme as CS. Engineering and accounting are two highly employable fields where you need to do a considerable amount of studying before your first job, but once you complete that stage and earn your credentials (bachelors + PE license or CPA license) your job security is pretty high because not many people are willing to commit that amount of effort, not cut out for it, or both. You still need to learn a lot for the rest of your career, but it’s at a steady pace where you build on prior knowledge, not like software where everything changes every year. Nursing might also be like this but it’s high stress.
K programmer meaning u wanted to get into software engineering rite?? Look the problem is tat u r thinking in the money direction s mite be u need it but tat doesn’t mean u just do it for the sake of money there r plenty of ways to hve a career in today’s world despite the fact tat all of them don’t tell the blunt truth tat all tat money which they earn goes down the drains after a while bcoz they didn’t manage money well enough or they spent it lavishly all I ll say is learn the essential skills as ig u r into ur early 20s now is the time where u learn all the essential skills and try tis is the time where u shld not just acquire knowledge but also take action on it then only it’s going to be worth a shot or else u ll just regret learning so much tat too especially with ai now it’s the time to actually gear up bcoz wat u learnt today tomorrow it won’t come to use or something like tat so u need to understand tis
