Cosmic Ray Theory??

Alright so I (26M) have been a huge Super Mario 64 fan for about 14 years now, and it is essentially the only video game I’ve ever played. I originally had the DS remake but when I was in high school I got myself an N64 along with an original Japanese copy of the game. I was obsessed! My entire childhood is filled with memories of speedrunning the game. I’m also a huge fan of the streamers Simpleflips, Clint Stevens, etc. and remember many a nights on Twitch in High School watching those guys. Lately with work I’ve had a lot less time to game so I haven’t really had as much time to game recently but still get Instagram clips of speedruns every once in a while on my reels.

So everyone is obviously aware on here of the Tick-Tock Clock cosmic ray, a highly charged particle that caused a speedrunning glitch about 10 years ago. As far as I’m aware it’s pretty much been confirmed by science that that’s what happened, although I’m was never super involved in the case…recently I have been having extremely lurid gay thoughts and sexual fantasies out of nowhere. I have identified as straight my entire life, and have only ever sexually been interested in cis women (although one time in college I performed fellatio on a transgender woman when I was extremely drunk, didn’t enjoy it so didn’t ask her to do it again).

I am convinced that a cosmic ray has somehow damaged some cells in my brain matter and caused these sorts of thoughts. This resulted in a “switch being flipped”. Several people in the speedrunning community I’ve talked to on Discord have mentioned that this is totally possible given what they saw on TTC. I have performed my own research via ChatGPT on the matter and it seems to agree with me that this might be a possibility, although my primary care physician has no idea what I’m talking about (he’s a 61 year old Indian man and not really a gamer) and just recommended I attend a gay rights support group. I’m not gay! This is why my recent change in personality is making me so upset. My girlfriend (19F) has been fucking pissed about this and is threatening to leave me take our dog, she also said lowkey she’s gonna euthanize it.
