You can check this by googling the queries you’re interested in. In my niche, “best/top/etc thing” posts have generally been returning mostly ecom category pages for a while now.
There are lots and lots of theories, observations and proponents for these ideas but frankly – PageRank is a page level system and I dont think Google tries to hide “types of businesses” or cares.
I see people trying to talk about google through the lens of a brands pov or aggregators or affiliate but its just very rare and 99% of the time – the person is looking at one outcome and applying it to everything; and not testing eh corollary.
>and they mentioned that in Google’s last update they’re focusing on giving exact answers rather than listed sites.
You havent specified who – so just a critical thinking reminder that having a podcast isn’t limited to experts, and that a lot of experts also invent their area of expertise – and that a lot of it are mirror myths.
Also, the vast majority of YT SEO channels buy their views (legitimately, via Google Ads where 100k views costs $500 and down)
I’m sure it was “reputable” but the reason I dont listen to SEO podcasts is because its populism vs reality.
