Tıp seçmedim ve ondan devam edemiyorum
22 yaşındayım ve CS derecesine sahibim. Hiç takip etmediğim bir yola doğru sürekli çekimi sallayamıyorum.
Sadece bunu yapma potansiyeline sahip olduğumu hissediyorum ve denemedim bile. Yaşam koşulları ve bir şekilde teknolojiye girdim. Ve şimdi derecemle işim bittiğine göre, bu büyük ağırlığı “ne olursa olsun” hissediyorum. 4 yıldır devam ediyor, özellikle de hepsinin başlangıcından beri ayrılmayı düşündüğümden beri.
Doktorlar veya med öğrencileri hakkında içerikten kaçınıyorum çünkü sokuyor. Bu yolu seçen ve iyi performans gösteren insanları tanıyorum, bazıları da önceki sınıf arkadaşları. Bu karşılaştırma ezici ve uzun zamandır onunla sıkışıp kaldım.
Ve bu sadece doktorlar. Tüm yollardan ve tüm kalibrelerden her türlü başarılı insan görüyorum: mühendislik, CS, genç sporcular vb. Sadece hiçbir şey hissetmiyorum "Vay canına, bu harika. Onlar için iyi."
Ama şimdi geçiş yapmak uzun bir yol anlamına gelir, istikrardan uzaklaşır ve hareketsiz kalmayı ve çalışmalara odaklanmayı göze alamam, aynı zamanda onu görmezden gelerek kendime ihanet ediyorum.
Seçtiğiniz ve hala çekildiğiniz şey arasında böyle bir durumda olan başka biri var mı? Bu ağrıyor mu, yoksa onunla barış yapmak için başka bir yol buldunuz mu?

do it. 22 is so young, there will definitely be people in the program older than you. i think the feeling will only grow stronger with time and we need people in medicine who genuinely want to be there. if you got a cs degree you’re a smart person and capable of it

For every one successful med student, there are a bunch that are barely making it by. You can still pursue it but definitely understand just how challenging it is. You need to be both exceptional as well as very lucky to be successful.
Lol humble brag lostness. Why not do both, since you are clearly capable and CS has higher unemployment rates than humanities right now? Then you can say you’re a doctor AND CS major. Being a doctor sucks ass lol they work you like a dog and it’s not rewarding aside from financial compensation. So if that turns you on, buckle up and sign that loan!
Age is just a number. If you want to do medicine, then just go for it. If you fail, take another path! I know many people who when to medical school after successfully completing their Master’s degree or PhD degree.📜 There is no “one size fits all”.
Either way, if you want to be a doctor in medical field or other STEM related path, it will take you on average 10-16 years of schooling after getting your high school diploma, and you will be around 30-35 years old. It is doable if you are patient, eager to learn, and not all about “$€xx/dating or having kids too early or taking care of too many people at the same time because those things will slow you down in life”.
I never regretted choosing a career path in biological sciences instead of going to medical school. Your path will guide you, just stay focus and never lose any opportunities. What’s meant to be yours will be yours and sooner or later, your path can also converge toward medical school or diverge from it. Biological sciences open more than a medical degree with tons of possibilities and flexibility around your schedule.
