Orduyu bırakıp bir sonraki amacımı arıyorum.
Çalışma hayatımın anlamlı yıllarının çoğu çok fazla özerkliğe sahip olmadan geçti.
Kariyer gelişimim ne öğreneceğimi ve ne zaman öğreneceğimi belirleyen bir sıralamaya bağlı.
Artık aktif görevden ayrıldığım için bu özgürlüğe sahibim ve bununla ne yapacağımı bilmiyorum.
Hemen hemen her şeye girmek için 4 yıllık üniversiteye doğru kullanabileceğim eğitim avantajlarım var ama bu tünel vizyonundan kaçmakta zorlanıyorum ve bir sonraki hamlemi yapmanın acil bir durum olduğu ve tüm yumurtalarımı tek bir sepete koyup çözmem gerektiği hissi. Bunların bir kısmı yıllarca süren askeri hayatım boyunca bana programlandı, ancak bir kısmı gerçek. Gelir elde etmek için çalışmam gerekiyor ve orta yaş dönümüne hazırım.
Başlangıçta “tanısal görüntüleme” işine kaydolmaya çalıştım. Bu işin olması gerekmiyordu, ancak eğitim miktarının yatırım getirisinin radyoloji teknolojisi için çok yüksek göründüğü ve iş görünümünün de umut verici göründüğü için şimdi yeniden düşündüm. Tek sorun bu programların ne kadar rekabetçi olabileceğidir. Araştırdığım okulun yılda 24 kontenjanı var ve 300’ün üzerinde başvuru var. Ben harika bir öğrenciyim ama zaman sizden yana olmadığında bu ihtimaller karşısında cesaretimin kırılmaması zor.
Şimdi yolumu yeniden gözden geçiriyorum ve bir kariyer fırsatı için gözlerimi açık tutmaya çalışıyorum ama onu nereye bakacağımdan veya nasıl bulacağımdan emin değilim. Bu başlığı yeni buldum ve buraya ne sormaya geldiğimden emin değilim..

Can you maybe edit your OP to give us a little context as to how long you were in the military?
Like was it 4 or 20? Makes a big difference.
Also, what was your job in the military?
vet here too, that whiplash from structure to “do whatever” is real as hell. honestly apply to the imaging program anyway, then apply to 3 or 4 other options at the same time. no single bet. everything’s a lottery now, hiring is rough
Have you tried any career assessments? Career Coaching? Either could be a place to start and get some ideas. Does the military ever provide any kind of consult to help you navigate into civilian life? Sorry- that may not be a thing it would just seem like a good idea if they helped you get some support and guidance as you transition into a new career.
Real talk? One of the best transition paths for vets is public sector employment. I would try looking into state or county/parish employment because a lot them give preferential hiring priority for veterans.
I made an Excel spreadsheet and through jrcert put in all the options of schools based on prerequisites, application essays, counselor appointments, GPA. TEAS/HESI A-2 requirements, transcript receival, interview, and mandatory orientation (not in the same order). I also had deadlines in the file, the website to the application portals, and voluntary service (if required). From 3 applications and working on two more I got rejected on two and accepted to 1, so dropped the other two I was working on. I did this while separating out around 5-4 months out.

If rad tech is still the dream then as another commentor said – apply to as many as you can. I’m in the States and in West Coast and was looking at the East Coast as long as I met material requirements. I get it, it’s painful. It definitely was for me. However, keeping a list of the school and requirements and deadlines and checking them off as you go makes it a little bit easier.
It hurts to be rejected but you move on. Especially if the school is lottery based.
Since you have an IT background possibly look into security+ kind of certs. While AI may be taking over some things I think protection and malware is always going to be critical.
maybe look into health administration (but I’m unclear of that lifestyle).
