Kendimi hissediyorum [28M] Tamamen sıkıştım ve hayat yardım etmekle ilgilenmiyor gibi görünmüyor.
Pazarlık bir şekilde iyi olduğumu bildiğim tek şeyde 9 aylık toplam iş deneyimim var (yazılım QA otomasyonu; temel olarak, otomatik olarak testleri çalıştırmak için komut dosyaları yazıyor). ABD hükümetinin zihinsel sağlığımda ciddi bir düşüşe yol açan bir Covid-19 yanıtının tamamen olmaması nedeniyle lisans derecem yok.
O zamandan beri H&R Block’ta bir vergi hazırlama sezonunu denedim (ki bu kesinlikle … ilk haftada 3 ayrı bağnazlık duyduğumu düşünerek bir deneyim oldu) ve müşteriye dönük bir şey yapamayacağımı belirledim.
Ayrıca okula geri dönmek için birkaç girişimde bulundum, ancak belirli sorunlar ortaya çıkmaya devam etti (örneğin, bir program için gerçekten ihtiyacım olan bir önsöz olan bir kurs … programın bir parçası olmak ve dolayısıyla mali yardım için sayılmıyor; ya da akademik takvimde listelenen ancak yaz dışında bu oturumları takip eden herhangi bir dersi olmayan bir okul).
Yukarıda belirtilen yazılım QA’dan başka pazarda iyi olduğum hiçbir şeyi nasıl bulacağımı bilmiyorum, ancak ruhunuzu satmazsanız ve bir dereceniz olsa bile AI olan kirlilik ve intihal makinesi pazarına girmezseniz teknoloji cehennem bir pazarıdır.
İnsanlarla sürdürülebilir bir şekilde iyi değilim (H&R Block’taki müşterilerle buluşma beni çok hızlı bir şekilde tüketti), ancak bir kontrol listesinden görevleri tamamlamayı seviyorum (QA’daki belirli bir yazılım özelliği için testleri otomatikleştirmek için bir bilet çekiyorsunuz).
Bu noktada, Rolling başlangıç tarihleri nedeniyle South New Hampshire Üniversitesi’nin çevrimiçi programını bile düşünüyorum, ancak diploma değirmeni olarak kazanılmamış bir üne sahip olduğunu biliyorum.

If I can tell my younger self what to do, the first thing is to definitely stick with your talent. Trust me on this!
So, if I were you, I’d say the best bet is actually go through the online IT program (doesn’t matter where), while at the same time build your network or even, if you’re lucky with your network, find any part-time work in lower-level IT, if possible.
To network: I’d focus on something you already good at, like software QA automation or even a sub-niche of it, and interact with people who’s already in that space. For example, join a reddit group, and ask around about what their problems are, and work on or give tips on those specific problems. The more you do this, the more you understand how to solve that specific problem, and the more you get ahead compared to your peers at school.
Because the second thing I’d say to my younger self is this: People don’t care what you do, where you studied, or even your grades. The only thing people care about (for hiring decisions) is if you can solve their problems or not. So, focus on their problems –> Also, that way you don’t have to ‘face customers’.
Anyways, I think you’re already going to the right direction. Just need some time to get there.

I see a lot of posts with this same theme: “I have no experience or education but I also can’t do X, Y, Z etc I also don’t want to do these things because I don’t like them. Please don’t suggest doing X because I don’t like it. All of these things happened to me that were out of my control etc.”
I’m not trying to insult you because you obviously have some talent and self-motivation, but it seems like your biggest obstacle causing you to be stuck is your mindset. Working sucks, especially in the beginning of your career. You will have to tolerate some level of discomfort in order to progress to better position and advance your career. I’m 35 and going to school full time for nursing then working 15-20 hours a week on top of that. My part time job is a customer-facing retail job and it sucks, but I have to grind in order to make it work and to survive financially.
My point is that you should follow whatever path you are motivated to pursue, but you need to take ownership of your life and stop letting yourself be defeated by the inconveniences that many if not most have encountered in pursuit of their career, or you will never achieve anything. I wish you luck and I hope you are able to follow your dreams and stick to them!
