İyi notlar, tutku yok. Tavsiye?
Herkese merhaba, lisede kıdemli biriyim ve mezun olduktan sonra ne yapacağımı kaybettim. Her zaman iyi bir öğrenci oldum (3.6 ağırlıksız / 4.4 ağırlıklı not ortalaması) ama üniversite hakkında gerçekten heyecanlı hissetmiyorum. Ailem gittiğimi varsayıyor ve muhtemelen eyalet içi öğrenimi (konut değil) kapsayan bir bursum olduğu için yapacağım, ancak daha iyi bir şey bulursam başka bir rotaya götürürdüm.
Düşündüğüm şeyler: • Gerçekten kaynak/elektrikçi/inşaat gibi işlemlere değil. • Hemşirelik → Tıbbı, ücret, esneklik ve kariyer büyümesi için ilginç buluyorum. (Doktor olmazdım) • Veri Bilimi/Teknik → Kosta Rika’da (ailemin neresinden olduğu) yaşamayı ve bir ABD işi için uzaktan çalışmayı çok isterim. • Radyoloji Teknolojisi gibi 2 yıllık sağlık programları → Çalışmaya başlamanın daha hızlı yolu, iyi ücret. • Dürüst olmak gerekirse orduyu düşünürdüm ama iyi notlar aldıktan sonra bir atık gibi geliyor ve dışarı çıktıktan ve neye uzmanlaşacağım için bir plana ihtiyacım olacak.
Sorun şu ki, büyük bir tutkum yok, bu yüzden pratikliğe dayanarak seçiyorum. Tıp (Hemşirelik, Rad Tech) işlerini daha ilginç buluyorum, ancak ailemi sadece birkaç hafta boyunca görebildiğim bir hastanede sıkışıp kalmak istemiyorum. Yine de iyi bir maaş kazanırken Rika’da daha fazla zaman geçirebileceğim veya daha fazla zaman geçirebileceğim bir işi tercih ederim.

Honestly military not a bad option especially the Air Force. Many health care and tech jobs. Some skills/certs can directly transfer to civilian jobs. You can earn college credits/certs while in. Having good grades means you will likely get a good score on the ASVAB and qualify for desirable medical and tech jobs the Air Force or other branch. In the course of life fours years is nothing. Better than wasting time and money in college with no clear direction or getting into a job/trade you hate.
It seems like you’re really into medicine or the hospital, but want the freedom to visit your family in Costa Rica. I feel like if you go into medicine or nursing you’re going to be stuck at the hospital working long shifts, but if you’re considering tech then there’s this whole thing about AI taking over. There are still people who get internships and jobs, I know some of my friends who do. You seem like a smart kid, I think if you lock in and maintain good grades and really understand coding concepts from a good university and you probably ARE going to a good university, I think you can get an internship easily and a job. This will give you more freedom to visit your family since tech is generally remote, although companies nowadays are preferring onsite. If you go into healthcare like nursing you will not have a lot of time to visit your family. But understand that everybody wants to have a job like what you’re describing, family time and good pay. It’s hard to have both.
