Hayalimdeki iş aslında kabus
Bu yüzden birkaç ay önce yeni bir işe başladım; hayalimdeki işten çok, zevk aldığım/iyi olduğum alanda önceki işlerimden (görünüşte) büyük bir adım atmıştım.
Uzun zamandır yaptığım şeye benzer, dolayısıyla sektöre aşinayım. Ama artık daha çok işin satış tarafındayım, bunun bir değişiklik olacağını biliyordum ama hiçbir şey çok farklı değildi.
Bu işi almamın ana nedeni uzak olması, maaşın iyi olabilmesi (komisyona dayalı) ve benim yaptığım işe göre çok daha az stresli görünmesiydi. Ekiple yaptığım görüşmelere göre hepsi çok mutlu ve misafirperver görünüyordu.
Bugün hızlı bir şekilde ilerleyelim, 4 aydır buradayım ve bu tam bir kaos.
İlk ay içinde CEO kovuluyor. Bu 4 ayda 3 farklı finans insanından geçtik. Şirketin web sitesinin tamamen yeniden tasarlanmasının ortasındayız (çevrimiçi bir perakendeciyiz, dolayısıyla işleyen bir web sitesi olmazsa şirket de olmaz) Şirket genelindeki farklı ekipler arasında çok az iletişim olduğunu veya hiç iletişim olmadığını keşfettik. Temel olarak standart prosedürler için herhangi bir sistem mevcut değildir. Doğrudan menajerim daha önce hiç bir takımı “yönetmedi” ve pek yardımcı olmuyor. Ben ve yeni işe alınan bir kişi dışında ekibimdeki herkes 5 yılı aşkın süredir bu şirkette çalışıyor. Bunun iyiye işaret olduğunu düşündüm ama hepsi perişan.
Birlikte çalıştığım ekibin geri kalanıyla tüm gün MS Teams sohbet bombardımanına tutuluyorum; önemli şeyler hakkında değil, sadece HER ŞEY hakkında ve bu sorunların yıllardır nasıl gerçekleştiği hakkında şikayetler.
Bunların hepsi son derece yorucu ve oldukça “zehirli” hissettiriyor.
İş hakkında bana yalan söylendiğini hissediyorum ve son derece stresliyim.
Eğer ayrılırsam ne yapacağım hakkında hiçbir fikrim yok ama bunu yapmaya devam edip edemeyeceğimden emin değilim. Bu, bu sektörde olmayı yeniden düşünmemi ve tamamen farklı bir şey bulmayı düşünmemi sağlıyor. Otuzlu yaşlarımın ortasında olmak ve 10 yılı aşkın süredir bu sektörde çalışmak bu noktada biraz gerçekçi görünmüyor.
Ailem/arkadaşlarım buna devam etmem gerektiğini, hala sadece “öğrendiğimi” ve daha rahat olduğumda her şeyin daha iyi olacağını söylüyorlar.
Tam olarak hangi tavsiyeyi istediğimden emin değilim. Sanırım dışarıdan gelenlerden biraz fikir ve eğer burası gerçekten zehirli bir ortam gibi görünüyorsa ya da onu içime çekip, o hale gelene kadar orada tutmam gerekiyorsa. "daha iyi"

So why are you stressed? No one is coming to you to have you solve the organization upheaval are they? Just do the tasks you’re assigned. The company’s organization is not your problem. The complaining on teams is also not your problem. You’re not the new CEO. Just ask your manager for tasks you should accomplish.
This can often be like the stock market. When everyone is panicking, double down. If you stay and do a great job, there may be a higher level position that needs filling that they just put you in because they just want a reliable person there. Being a steady hand amidst chaos is a massively positive quality to have in a company. The storm will pass unless the company goes under.
Its easier to land a job when still working vs when sitting around unemployed and desparate.
Also if you are unemployed at interviews they really cant know if you were fired for cause or some other reason. Therefore unemployed people are at a disadvantage to someone employed but looking since thats what go getters do. High agency people dont stay on a sinking sink then look for a new boat when floating in the water, they say ‘fuck this ship im out’. So other than fresh grads, the best candidates are the currently employed in general.
Polish resume and start looking. But there wont be much hiring until january. Use this time to polish interview and techinical skills. Setup interviews for jobs you dont want just for practice, that type of thing. Getting the job and doing the job are different skills.
People are complaining in chat to their co-workers about the jobs they are all performing, yet they stick it out for 5 years. Why is this your dream job? Because it is “remote” and “compensation-based.” It’s compensation-based, so they won’t have to pay you while you’re stressed out about not making sales, so they can point at you and say it’s because “it’s your fault”.
I wish I knew more about this industry – why it is remote and web-based (and the website barely works), yet you still get a commission. Sounds like a miserable company to work for.
