Bir Değişiklik Arıyoruz

Pivot’a 5 Ay Kaldı. 25Erkek

honestly man first thing is cut expenses hard and use this last stretch to stack even a tiny emergency fund while you still get a paycheck, then hammer out a basic resume and start applying to entry level help desk / warehouse tech / electronics retail or even remote cs stuff that at least leans into tech, you can use free youtube / coursera to learn basic it, then maybe a cheap comp tia a+ or google it cert once you’re sure you like it, but yeah it’s super hard finding anything decent right now, everything needs “experience” and pays trash

You having a paycheck still coming is actually a better position than most people who are already unemployed and trying to pivot, so use that window intentionally.

SO on the no-laptop problem, the Google IT Support Certificate on Coursera is fully mobile-accessible through the app. It’s ~6 months at your own pace, costs around $50 CAD/month (or free with a financial aid application they approve pretty readily), and is the single most recognized entry-level IT credential for helpdesk and support roles. You can make real progress just on a phone during downtime at work.

What to do in the next 5 months specifically:
    1. Start applying now, not in August bc you’re more hireable while employed. Even if you don’t want to leave before the closure, getting interviews lined up now means you’re not starting from zero when August hits.

    2. Your 6 years of work is great bc delivery/logistics coordination, handling high-value items, customer-facing problem solving, and scheduling are all transferable. Electronics retail (Best Buy, Canada Computers, Memory Express) pays better than furniture delivery and uses your existing product knowledge. Warehouse team lead or receiving coordinator roles at tech companies are also realistic targets.

    3. Save hard for the next 5 months. Even $500/month gets you $2,500 by August and that’s a buffer that changes what jobs you can afford to accept.

Realistic IT entry path: Google IT cert → apply for helpdesk or IT support roles → CompTIA A+ if you want to strengthen the application further. First helpdesk role is the hardest to get; everything after that opens up.

On automating the job search, I use Sprout myself (it’s my company, full transparency) and we built it to auto-apply users to every listing with a tailored resume/CV without it feeling generic. If you’re interested, I can set you up with a code to give it a try when you’re ready to start applying. Good luck dude!
