Analiz felcinde 21f

Tavsiyeniz takdir edilecektir.

analysis paralysis is actually a really interesting way of putting it and a term i’ll borrow!

i’m a similar age to you and i go through the same thing. i’ll read up on a career i’m interested in (e.i. ux design) and by the time i’m done, all i’ve read is: frequent lay-offs, scam job-listings, etc. so, i’ll pivot and consider a different career path, like becoming a professor – the discourse is the same: impossible career path, underpaid, over-worked, etc.

    it just *sucks*.

my advice – and something that’s been working for me – is to be a jack of all trades (master of none) for a bit. why don’t you just try out a career in the food industry and see if you can tolerate the long-hours. maybe it’ll be so fast paced you won’t even realize, or maybe you’ll realize you hate it and actually want a desk job. either way, it’s a win because you’ll get closer to the career and life you want.

i’m a chronic over-achiever. from the day i was born i’ve been over-compensating, and my husband often reminds me that the first careers/ jobs i do won’t or do not need to be what i do forever. that honestly helps me cope because it reminds me that i don’t need to reach perfection on the first or second trys.

tangentially, i have a friend whose dad used to be a professor – but he was denied tenure (which is the academic equivalent of being fired, tbh). he ended up becoming a mini-golf course designer and made a lot of money that way – literally the most esoteric and specific job i’ve ever heard. i love that story and i think about it all the time because it reminds me that life is just weird as heck and people who go with the flow seem to fare batter than those of us who try to control or perfect every decision we make.

    best of luck 🙂
