Assuming you’re American, I wouldn’t right now. Unless you feel that invading countries that didn’t attack us to distract from the Epstien files will give you a sense of purpose

I joined the Navy at 23. The economic climate then was reminiscent of the contemporary conditions; it was 2008 (Great Recession), the restaurant I was working at was closing, and very few occupational opportunities existed. The post service benefits have been extraordinary; I’ve earned a bachelors degree, had the opportunity to attend an Ivy for grad school, and have healthcare for life through the VA. There were also negative aspects of service, such as deployment, duty days when in garrison, and just the general bullshit that comes with being in the military. There are plenty of rates (jobs) in the Navy that don’t require going on a ship. I was a corpsman and spent my sea rotation with the Marines and shore rotation at a hospital; you could also train to be a construction worker with the Seabees or, if you score high enough on the ASVAB, go into intelligence.

As a Corpsman, I saw plenty of sailors and marines with flat feet. As long as it doesn’t prevent you from running or marching in formation for long distances you should be fine. In regard to your weight, you’re probably skinny, which would be welcomed because there are a lot of fat bodies in the military.

Military is a solid choice for many people, My dad is an air force veteran and he later worked on planes and he did planes as his passion growing up. and same with my brother, also had passions for planes and even used his GI bill for a college degree, although sad part is he never used his degree. Also Look up BLS to see what career or trade can fit you best for your future. Your 23, you have a lot of time to look up what you wanna do for your future careers and time in the military.
