DA from Moz was meant to be used to determine ranking potential.
In an ideal world, it would be as useful as it sounds.
In most cases, it is useful in that sense with a grain of salt.
It’s not an ideal world and widespread manipulation of that metric defeats the whole purpose.
You causality going to wrong way, kinda. Moz created the metric to try to emulate PageRank based on their internal index. The other tools do something similar. Tbe really only useful thing about it is comparing to other sites DA within the tool. Even than it’s not great because their internal indexes are much smaller than Google’s.
You can have the most well crafted page(s) on the internet, but if it doesn’t have any authoritative backlinks to it, it is basically invisible to the world.
