A thousand bucks is like 3-4 good links. An “explosion” of links is likely just spam, and not intentional SEO.
I think that they’re paying is likely one way or another.
Honestly a lot of those spikes are rarely 100% organic. Some of it could be legit like a post going semi-viral or getting picked up by a big site or newsletter, but in most cases it’s either paid link building like guest posts or niche edits, private networks, or an aggressive digital PR push.
Seeing a blog under 90 days old suddenly pull in thousands of links usually isn’t just luck. Doesn’t mean their whole strategy is fake, just that they’re mixing organic with pay-to-play.
You’re not being a hater, just noticing how the game is often played. If you’re going long-haul with organic, it will take more time but it’s safer and steadier. Those huge backlink jumps sometimes burn out or get hit by updates.
Almost all of the SEO YouTubers are buying traffic for sure – if that helps answer this
thousands? you can buy cheap links lik $50 per 1000
If they do pay for it, it is very likely that they will be punished for it with the new spam update
