The fuck are these posts. Brother, I dont know if social media and some sort of “capitalistic pressure” made this, but this is fucked up. I swear, I see literally everyday posts about beeing behind and feeling like a loser writen by 25-30 years old.

You are good. Just live your life – enjoy every moment, collect memories. Be happy. Its not a competition. You could live with parents and work for minimal wage and this is also good if you are happy.

No. I’m 29, bipolar, still 100% financially dependent on my parents, never had a job. I’m almost certainly going to have to drop out of yet another semester of a degree I started 11 years ago. Every year is worse and more difficult regarding the bipolar disorder. I am absolutely fucked going forward.

I have no idea what I want to do with my life, and don’t even really know what options I have at this point. And to say I feel behind in life is an understatement. I am incredibly ashamed and embarrassed to be in this position.

My life really began at 30 honestly. Got my health taken care of, started pursuing and achieving my dreams, kicked addictions, financially stable.

My 20s were awful in comparison.

Honestly , there isn’t anything to “turn around” given you’ve built a good foundation and been on the straight and narrow unless you’re planning to break bad. Once you’re stable your life is YOUR sandbox so you can’t be globally “behind”.

If you value relationships then there is plenty of time to build new relationships in your late twenties and beyond. Want to be more knowledgable? You have an entire lifetime of media to consume, people to meet, and new skills to learn.

If your question is literally as it sounds, “Are there people who have grown and improved at life after their late twenties?” And the answer is yes, almost everyone.

having a house is an amazing achievement. I am 33m and have had to move back home despite bachelors + masters. Life is gonna throw curve balls my guy. At your age keep experiencing, learning and just properly sit and reflect.

How did you afford a house at 25 (people buy it on average around 36-45yo) and here you are at 27 asking for high paying jobs 😂😂😂. Sounds like it wasn’t smart to buy a house at such a young age especially that’s when most people leave their parents’ house to go figure out their life, career, job, education ….

    Im 41.

I just divorced the man I shouldn’t have rushed into marrying at 32.

I just moved to a new city and developing a new community that I love, because I tried forcing myself to be ok w the friend group I had in my 20s and 30s. I’m renting.

I’m just hitting my stride in a business I started at 36.

    There’s so much ahead ✨

I turned my life around at 25. I moved to a different state and found an actual career job.

I know how you feel about missing your glory days though. I spent my late teens/early 20s a hermit. I went out drinking maybe 3 times, went to literally one house party, I didn’t sleep around with women, I didn’t get caught up in the dating life, my life was literally sleep, videogames, and work. No friends or social life. The jobs I worked sucked, low pay and worked you like a dog. I simply just settled though because I didn’t have the drive to go out and look for better, at least until I turned 24 and had sort of a quarter life crisis realizing I wasn’t doing shit with my life and needed to change it.

Looking back I really do wish I did more 10+ years ago, but it’s not worth dwelling over.

I’ll be 34 soon and I’ve had more fun in the last few years of my life than I ever had. It’s not your glory days because you’re young. Any age can be your glory days, and the best is most likely yet to come. All about the choices you make from here on out. Look forward, not backward

There is no yardstick to compare any achievement against a timeline. There are early achievers but lose all within the next few years while there are late retirees just snuggling to a cosy home in time. For me 27-33 was a roller coaster ride. I was sacked twice at the start, got into a new relationship that would be a 20yo marriage, rose to the top of company as the boss’s right hand man, fell out of game with him, left, and set up my own business that would propel me to early retirement at 45.

Yes – 29 to 34 was the biggest change in my life.

Divorced at 29, sorted out my personal issues, got an MBA, figured out what I wanted in life, grew in my profession – got married again at 38

Arguably I feel like 28-30 is where you need to make sure you’re on the right path, you still have time to make serious changes, and have had enough time as an adult to create the right or wrong path
