   1. It is never too late to be what you might have been.

   2. You’re going to be 30/40/50 anyway. Might as well have something to show for it. Don’t underestimate what you can accomplish in 10 years.

   3. Make experiences. Say yes to things (within reason of course). Minimize regrets.

   4. If things get tough, imagine you’re an old person looking back on that time in your life with nostalgia. Because eventually you probably will be.

   5. Save money. Max out your Roth every year, put it into index funds that you can set and forget.

   6. Choose a career that’s a balance of what you can tolerate with what makes decent money. This will be different for everyone, but having some expendable income and an in-demand resume will make your life so much easier and more enjoyable. Money isn’t everything but not having it is.

   7. Enjoy the little things. Cliche, but really, take time to smell the roses. Like Ferris Bueller once said: Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

   8. One more thing, because it’s important: prioritize the relationships with the people you care about in your life. Make time for the friends and family you love. Let them know you care.

   I could be biased but it’s because it literally changed my life.

   Military.

   There’s a lot that goes into that decision. But for me personally I wish I would’ve done it way sooner. I joined at 32.
