I don’t think so! I have a liberal arts degree and I would consider myself moderately successful. I work my ass off but make $120k a year at 29.

I believe it’s all in application. With AI in the future, I think the human-focused skills will be our differentiator.

I went to school for Communication Studies. Am I good at communicating? No. Do I care about my communication at work? Yes. I invest evening hours to get it right. Because of that, I’ve been recognized for my presentation and storytelling skills.

I hopped around between Sales, Marketing, and ultimately because a digital designer, so I’ve applied many comm skills into design, presenting, and talking to clients.

Depends on how much you put into it, and what you expect to do with it.

If you just want to coast through university and get a piece of ticket to a job, then probably not worth that much.

If you have something you want to to study and spend your hours doing extra work and networking in your field, then there’s a better chance it might lead you somewhere interesting and worthwhile.

In complete honesty, I think so. Everyone I know who has a humanities degree does not use it, except for one person. Healthcare and the trades are where the money is.

In terms of the degree itself, it does not lead to anything technical like nursing or engineering or tech etc.

But if you can be an efficient project managers to bring the team together and lift each members up, if you have the skill. The degree itself helps you to see more and learn how to work with people. It also broaden your perspective and tolerances of others. Or so I thought.

I have a masters in policy which is a MA degree. I make $105k a year in government. Not as much as my friends making close to $300k in tech with engineering degrees. But I also don’t need much to be happy.

They’re not worthless if you plan on being a successful author or entertainer. They are worthless if you plan on being pretty much anything else.

Those bombs help defend your country and freedoms. No, I don’t work there or for the military or police etc.
I thought my B.A. was worthless when I first graduated. It didn’t help me get one lead for any jobs.
It really helped with advancement through the jobs I had already worked in the past though. That led to management and some decent money in my 20’s.
