I assume you mean new “domain name” and not a subdomain. Two very different things.
I assume you have a new domain that will replace the old domain. Treat them as separate for now and let google find the new pages as you add them to the new site.
You say you have 4 pages indexed. Where? In GSC? So they are already live? Do not disable them and do not noindex them. It will take forever for google to crawl them after you change back.
Wait until the new site is built, and then add 301 redirects. If the page urls of the new site are identical to the old site, then do a bulk 301 redirect. If not, then build the individual redirects.
No one can say how long it will take to get indexed and displayed on SERPs. Some pages in a few days, other pages never. It depends on content and authority. Once you add the redirects, you may see a bump in indexed pages. You may see a bump in traffic. But, you may also see a drop in traffic.
Good luck.
For a staggered migration, keep the finished new URLs live and indexable, do not noindex them and do not redirect them back to the old domain; only 301 each old URL to its new version when that specific page is fully ready, update internal links immediately, maintain clean XML sitemaps (new domain = only finished pages, old domain = remove redirected pages), and submit both in GSC—this avoids crawl delays and mixed signals; you’ll usually see indexing and impressions in GSC within days, rankings stabilize over 2–6 weeks, and full signal consolidation in 1–3 months, with no “penalty” risk as long as you keep 1:1 redirects, correct canonicals, preserved content/structure, no redirect chains, and monitor coverage and crawl errors
Staggered migrations are fine, but each page should only exist in one place at a time. Once a page moves, 301 it and don’t keep two indexable versions
