Man, I totally get why you’re asking. The whole rich snippet thing made a lot of people just drop them completely.
But I think that’s a mistake. The way I explain it is, think of AI search as an open-book test. A solid FAQ section is basically your cheat sheet. You’re giving the AI clear questions and the exact answers you want it to use. So yeah, I’m definitely still making them. It feels less like a trick for ranking and more like a way to have a direct conversation with the bots.
Definitely. It’s one sure way to get your sites the AI system; they help you “train” AI by providing direct info. But at the end of the day, FAQ blocks are just one of the many puzzle pieces in your pages. They’ll work more effectively together with the other pieces.
It is content on the page which could contain keywords. Not sure why it wouldn’t help with SEO like any other content. FAQs are also usually structured well.
I’m not convinced throwing random FAQs at the bottom of pages is actually worthwhile – if there was any major questions, I’d make sure the answer was weaved into the content body.
People are not hunting for FAQs on pages anymore because AI overviews/chatgpt can answer them in a split second – unless ur article/content gives some wider context to that FAQ question, it’s basically pointless bloat to your page, IMO ofc.
Make them useful, put them on relevant pages and see what happens.
