What to do: rework all deindexed pages, create stronger and more internal links, then try to have them indexed again.
Few questions that might help others answer better:
What kind of sites were they? Business / Ecomm / web app / informational blogs?
What niche /industry are they in?
How old are they? Where were they ranking before & after the update?
