Hey millet,
What helped was realizing SEO isn’t about ranking it’s about being the result someone actually wanted when they searched. I switched from chasing volume to building pages that feel like the final answer. Traffic didn’t just go up, conversions did too. There’s a method I use now to reverse-engineer intent before writing a word.
Understand the fundamentals first, and quickly pivot to AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) to keep your skills relevant and your job secure. Also, include Technical SEO as a skill set, if you haven’t already.
Honestly, it just takes time and practice. I don’t know what else to tell you 🙂
What clicked for me was switching from thinking like a marketer to thinking like Google’s QA team. I’d take a random keyword, find who’s ranking, then reverse map why is it structure, internal links, freshness, intent match? Did that 50 times and suddenly indexing and crawling made sense without needing a course. There’s a quick way to do this that shows you exactly where your page is falling short.
I’ve spend the last 3 months learning. And it comes down to one simple thing. Backlinks. How to get backlinks? Comment on blogs in your industry it’s really that simple. However, some owners know their value and will charge for a post (backlink). in a nutshell that’s all you have to do. It’s time consuming contacting site owners and asking for backlinks 90% will ignore you and the other 10% will mostly charge a fee. Register on multiple directories with NAP (name, address, phone) is a great start. Sign up to Ubersuggest free trial and put in your competitors and check out their backlinks, download the csv file and cancel the sub from Uber. Aim for 5 backlinks a month and remember this is very long term to get to the top. Too many backlinks and you’ll be flagged.
Backlinks work well avoid the paid backlinks.
Stick to the paid channels.
