when you type in words into the search bar and click enter websites appear below it in an order based on how optimized the site is. search engines account for 93% of searches on the internet. so very much alive
companies should be spending their resources in a diverse way to attract as much traffic as possible if the website. as far as web traffic, the optimal ratio of paid ads, seo, etc. is unique to each business. for ecommece businesses nothing much has changed. weather they want to hire an agency or not is up to them.
many get ripped off from seo agencies and freelancers so trust level is low. it is becoming more and more well known that if you do not audit what the agency is doing they might not be doing much at all and/or not doing basic technical seo to make the site more optimized.
SEO isn’t dead, it just smells that way.
In all seriousness, this is a dumb question. People have been saying that SEO is dead since the start of the Iraq war. It’s never gone away. What it does is change. Good SEOs know to change with it.
AI has definitely changed it…. And google searches are down big….
No one is hiring seo these days
I personally would not work with an SEO agency again. Last year, I paid Matt Diggity’s company (The Search Initiative) $5,000 a MONTH to fix my website after it was killed from the “helpful content update”. After five months I had to stop because I was seeing NO improvements on my website. I thought some of the changes would just take time to see results and I might see an uptick in traffic during my busy season. NOPE. Here it is a FULL year later and I still have less than 100 visitors a day to my website (before the update, I had 500-800 a day). In fact, my site might actually be worse off after paying $30,000 for SEO services.
I will say, I am in a small niche – not a lot of competition – but it is in the YMYL niche. So there’s that.
After my experience, I wish I put that money in Google Ads. It would have been a lot better use of my time and money.
No and you owe me a nickel
No.
No. Not for now. High authority domains are being prioritized in LLM training. Getting high scores on domain authority still requires a lot of traditional onsite offsite SEO work, keywords, back linking etc.
