Seyahat).
SEO’dan ayrılan veya ayrılmayı düşünen diğerlerinden biraz deneyim almak isterim.

also been thinking of jumping ships, but the thought of starting over again is really what’s holding me back
I can’t work on SEO anymore without going mentally insane
Is this a sign for me to not pursue SEO? I’m just starting, hahaha!
I don’t have the input you’re seeking but will ask a related questions.
I’m 51, in my 5th career pivot. I have tons of skills, nuanced expertise, proven results, and multiple graduate degrees and certifications. But I learned too late that all it meant was that I could be an employee serving an organization (often doing things I used to love but now hate). None of my skillset is quickly monetizable for ME. I don’t have the kinds of skills that I can go out tomorrow and quickly land a client. I love consulting and am good at it, but it’s not the kind of consulting that has a fast or easy sales cycle. So I’m now learning SEO and some other things from scratch so I can start my own business with the skills I do have that transfer. It’s overwhelming and exhausting, but I don’t feel like I have a choice.
You, on the other hand, have an easily monetizable skillset that could get you clients tomorrow–or let you pivot to a new niche fairly quickly (job market hell aside). I totally understand feeling done with your field–we grow and change, and there’s nothing wrong with moving on from the thing we invested so much in. But it’s a lot to give up (I’ve done it myself, so I know the sacrifice).
Are there skills adjacent to SEO that you would be interested in, that could make a learning curve pivot easier (e.g. web design, ghost writing, etc.)? Or would you feel more pulled toward keeping the skillset the same but applying it in new ways (travel niche has so much opportunity!).
What if you experimented with some freelance work in the travel industry to test it out?
SEO is becoming a secondary skill set in a list of 3-5 other skills marketers need to know. Upper management assumes (rightly or wrongly) AI is making these tasks much easier and less time consuming. They can just dump 3-4 jobs on your plate. The AI-effect is having a negative impact on job roles but this is likely temporary, sorta like 2012 when everyone was just buying links vs brand building.
SEO is also way more difficult than it was 10 years ago. Companies find it difficult to find a balance of spend vs ROI. They’re not willing to spend what it takes to drive SEO results and thus dump more money into quick returns of paid ads. I’m just not seeing small and mid-size companies investing heavily in SEO in 2025 outside of maintenance & audits. Not sure what this means for the future.
