This will always be down to authority. Google Indexes the top 10% of the w in under 1 hour.
You need high quality backlinks to give Google a reason or ridiculously low indices that have no competition
There is no delay – I checked a domain earlier this morning that had a wrong tag and it was updated in Google in less than a minute later

Yes, this has been happening a lot lately. Google’s indexing is slower, and even “indexed” pages in GSC don’t always show up in SERPs right away. This is mostly due to stricter crawl budgets and quality filters. I’m seeing new pages take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to actually appear. Strong internal links and solid topical relevance seem to speed things up a bit.
