Only 1. Got access, did my research on issues. Reported back, told them the price/length of time to fix. Customer hired an in house SEO, got removed after about 3 months. Was no biggie honestly.
Have you mostly freelanced? I’ve found it happens more often with agency work where there is a handover process between teams.

lol this is universal. i’ve got access to GSC accounts for clients i haven’t worked with in 5+ years. same with GA, same with ad accounts.
nobody revokes access because:
1. they forget you exist
2. they don’t know how
3. whoever hired you left the company and nobody knows what tools are connected to what
it’s less “lucky” and more “standard security hygiene is nonexistent in most businesses”
i try to be good about it and remove myself when a contract ends but i’d be lying if i said i do it every time. sometimes you just… forget. and then two years later you’re like “wait why do i still have access to this”
