From my experience if you request indexing too frequently they might actually respond less to your requests. Make sure you have done all the changes you need to do before requesting. I also like to resubmit my sitemap after major changes. There might be an advantage if you don’t over use it imo
If you’ve added more headlines, sure – re-crawling might widen your breadth. Either way – if your page has traffic, Googlebots – when they fetch pages, doa crc and size/change check. If they (or the indexing service) think there’s sufficient change to put the page through indexing again, they will. If they dont, they wont. If you have no traffic to the pages, they might not refresh anyway (re-indexing frequency is a component of Authority)
>. I’ve heard that A) Google doesn’t really do it; they’re too busy with the existing indexing, and B), it’s better for it to show up when they get to my site naturally.
Kind of true but here’s my take
1. For new pages – i.e. after submit, you 1000% want to get Googlebots to find your page FROM another page. Thats actually what Googlebots do – they do not participate in the indexing or snippet build. They dont roam your pages, they dont render it and look to see what’s top left etc.
But they do find EVERY URL and pop those into a new crawl list + Authority (from the incoming page) + Context (aka the AHREF text)
If you do this – you 1000% will get higher on the initial index = critical for earning clicks and positive CTR traction
2. for Edited pages – like you’re in – manual crawl requests are fine. BUT – if you’re not getting clicks then STOP
—– No clicks / Low Auth approach —-
Look at pages that are related or have related content and build links (max 3-5) in the body to you new pages. Much better
What will move the needle here:
>meta titles
If you improved these via clickbait, be careful. your Page Title is also a key component of keyword targeting. If yhou improved your authority:relevance, absolutey do a crawl request
>structure
Almost no impact: Google doesnt care and cannot have an “optimal sturcture” -this is straight out of writing school myh production. Google would kill innovation if it had a preferred structure. Maybe it will resonate with readers / maybe not but it will NOT increase your rank position…
HTH
Hmmm. I had to idea you could request a reindex
