Adding a widget with a link back can give SEO value, but there are a few things to keep in mind:
Relevance matters if the sites embedding it are highly relevant, that’s a positive signal.
Many widgets use iframes, which usually don’t pass much link equity. JS injection can work, but make sure it’s crawlable.
Anchor text & natural placement, verly optimized or spammy links can hurt more than help.
Relevant embeds is fine; hundreds of low-quality sites could trigger spam filters.
Basically, it can help if done thoughtfully, but don’t expect huge SEO gains just from the number of embeds.
Focus on making it genuinely useful so sites want to include it.
