   I just wish they pay teacher more and I always vote yes to any school funding that will raise my property tax even I am already paying 12k a year on property tax. And I do not even have kid!

   Getting a History degree was the single biggest mistake of my life.

   Teaching k-12 is a horror show. Public schools are prisons, but you make much less than a real prison guard and get way less respect. Most of the kids dont wanna be there, if they dont go they get sent to real prison. You could possibly get a professor of History job if you are a certain demographic.

   I taught for 2 years then just worked in general offices for 30 years.

   You cant really ever catch up to people who got actual marketable well paying degrees. You know what these are – finance, accounting, engineering degrees, cs, medical fields.

   People say Ai will end many of these fields, especially CS, but thats not true just going to mean you gotta be in the top half of performers to get work, not that hard.

   Its embarassing telling people I have a History degree so I never mention it. If you arent good at science or engieering get into accounting – can work in any field they all need accountants. In future you will be doing more checking what the Ai/software produces (auditing) and less data entry and thats a good thing.

   You could get a history degree and go to law school but you are 1000 times better off getting engineering degree and THEN going to law school (patent law maybe, pays well, constant lawsuits).

   Keep history as a side hobby. Read. Make youtube vids if you want. Go to school for a career unless you are already wealthy then go for the embarassing worth zero degree that people laugh at.
