Reddit çok cesaret kırıcı geliyor (18F)
Ãœniversiteye gitmek ve diploma almak istiyorum çünkü ailemde bunu yapan ikinci kiÅŸi olurdum, ancak yapmak istediÄŸim bir dereceyi aramak için reddit’e her baktığımda, pek çok insanın dereceleri itibarsızlaÅŸtırdığını görüyorum. Ãœniversitedeki ilk yılımdayım, ÅŸu anda BirleÅŸik Krallık’ta Kimya okuyorum ve ekonomi/siyaset alanında hukuk veya JH gibi bir ÅŸeye dönmeyi düşünüyorum, ancak bu derecelerin buna deÄŸip deÄŸmeyeceÄŸini her araÅŸtırdığımda, derecelerle ilgili o kadar çok olumsuz yorum görüyorum ki, insanlar iÅŸ bulamıyor, insanlar iÅŸsiz kalıyor – ne yapacağımı bilmiyorum. Fonumu boÅŸa harcamak istemiyorum, iÅŸsiz kalmak istemiyorum; sadece istikrar istiyorum ama oraya nasıl ulaÅŸacağım hakkında hiçbir fikrim yok, özellikle de pek çok insan diplomalarından piÅŸmanlık duyarken. Anlamlı bir ÅŸey yapmak istiyorum, bu yüzden Chem’i seçtim ama rota ezberleme konusunda en iyi deÄŸilim. Ne yapmam gerektiÄŸini anlamıyorum.

Hi there! Knowledge is powerful, and increasing it will help you to get better opportunities. There is a discourse against formal education, that is in part fabricated to keep ppl easy to manipulate.
Regarding your question, chem is a really hard field but pretty rewarding once you get through it. You could see if biology (biotechnology for instance) is better for you. Memorization is part of every career at least while studying and it’s a skill that you can learn, too.
Law is even more focused in memory. Politics (my degree) is deeply saddening, and won’t help you with stability.
Find something that keeps you wondering, the job path arises later on.
Friends did chemistry and many went into consulting, or the water industry it’s a really nice and stable industry. I would suggest you could find a mentor or join some young professionals evenings to see what’s out there and connect with people. Law is a superpower if you’ve got the right skills and mind to do it, I’m always so impressed with colleagues who’ve studied law.
It’s not that people are ‘debunking’ degrees. It’s just the reality that getting a job after studying these subjects is difficult, and if you are ok with that, then go ahead. Chemistry has slightly better employment prospects than economics, but it depends what university.Â
