I got banned for being an asshole in VC on the second of November. Was I drunk at the time? Yes. I still remember everything I said, I still stand by everything I said, I still agree with everything I did, and, if anything, I'm even more furious now than I was then. I didn't go far enough.

Dad jokes are the antithesis of humor, the inverse of a clever witticism. I've hated them since I saw the first one, and I hate them somehow more each time I hear them. They take every fundamental principle of humor and invert it so as to orchestrate intellectual anguish. I can actually respect how complete they are in their perversion. The thing is that humor is perhaps the single most beautiful medium possible for communication. "Hi <insert phrase>, I'm Dad" is perhaps the worst of the bunch, just for sheer efficiency. It's so potent that you can cut off the last 2 words and they ring in your ears anyways, or if you're in the habit of doing it constantly, the first "hi" is enough to induce the full brunt of the cringe. I've cussed out bots for making that joke, in this server. It pisses me off. (Unnamed), I hold no malice towards you, but if you're one of those people who thinks you're actually being funny, you're wrong, you couldn't be more wrong, and I weep for your inability to appreciate the true beauty of humor. I ain't gonna unmute you, nothing personal, but I spent 3 weeks thinking about it, and I admire drunk me for having behaved exactly as sober me was going to.
