Michael Jackson’s “They Don’t Care About Us” had a hidden subtext about circumcision

The first lines Jackson sings are "skin head, dead head", which, to me, sounds like he is contrasting "skin head" and "dead head". Skin head is a natural penis, with the foreskin intact. Dead head is a circumcised penis, since circumcision drastically decreases sensitivity, both by removing the highly erogenous foreskin (2/3 or so of the nerves in the penis) and by leaving the glans exposed to keratinize.

Then, of course, there is the controversial "Jew me, sue me" line. Just to be clear, I am 100% opposed to antisemitism, but a lot of men who are upset about circumcision lash out against the Jewish religion (Eric Clopper, for example). I don't think this is an appropriate way of dealing with frustration about having your penis damaged with a knife, but it is a common way of dealing with frustration.

Jackson also says "Tell me what has become of my rights?" and "am I invisible because you ignore me", which could be a reference to how routine infant circumcision is a human rights violation, and the way the medical industry ignores this because circumcision is a quick and easy way for unethical doctors who have sold their souls for the love of strange medicine to make a quick buck.

"All I want to say is that they (doctors, nurses, mothers) don't really care about us (boys and men)".
