   Are you looking because the job market for tech is saturated?

   Finance is the next best thing. I’d applied to a few financial firms prior to getting into tech. It was fidelity and liberty mutual. They were offering training programs to get you licensed.

   In finance, you’ll make your money, work from home and can even use programming skills to increase your productivity and output.

   I ended up a cloud engineer in a medical finance company and a few times I’ve just written dashboards that blew the directors of billing and finance away. They still use it to this day for reporting.

   There’s this golden boy in the finance department who knows python and he’s been promoted 3 times in as many years. He’s reached out a few times for help with a project he’s working on and I’ll sit with him for a bit to figure it out and then he goes and convinces everyone else in the department why this new way to do things is the better way.
