Ekonomik Olarak Kapana kısılmış Hissetmek
Ä°ki yıl önce devlet inÅŸaatlarında üçüncü taraf mal sahibi-temsilci müfettiÅŸi olarak saat başına 45 dolar kazanan bir iÅŸim vardı ve iÅŸler rahatsız edici deÄŸildi. Ä°ÅŸler hala sıkışık gibi görünüyordu (iÅŸin gerektirdiÄŸi pahalı ÅŸehir, daha yeni araba ödemeleri) ama yine de iÅŸten çıkarılmadan önce 20 bin dolar tasarruf etmeyi baÅŸarmıştık (DOGE öncesi kesintiler). Artık yaptığım iÅŸ baÅŸvurularına insani bir yanıt bile alamıyorum; Ãœlke çapında ilgili her iÅŸe baÅŸvurmayı denedim ve görünüşe göre 6 yıllık deneyimim hiçbir ÅŸey ifade etmiyor. Saati 24 dolardan bir ticari iÅŸe girdim. Bunun geçici olacağını düşünüyorum ama ÅŸu anda bir karavan parkında yaşıyoruz, vücudumu mahveden bir iÅŸte çalışıyorum (42, ticarete baÅŸlamanın yaşı deÄŸil), gidiÅŸ-dönüş 1,5 saat, zamanım ve enerjim tükeniyor. Ben günde 11 saat boyunca evde olmadığımda ergenlik çağındaki çocuÄŸuma bakmak için evde kalan kronik hasta (hiçbir engeli olmayan) yetiÅŸkin bir çocuÄŸum var. Mütevazı bir Noel geçirdik, ancak artık tasarruflarımız tamamen tükendiÄŸine ve önümüzdeki aylar için bütçemiz giderek açık verdiÄŸine göre, toplumsal beklenti sadece ‘baÅŸka bir iÅŸ bulmak’ gibi görünüyor, hafta sonları çalışacağım ek bir iÅŸ falan mı? Haftanın ardından toparlanmam gereken deÄŸerli az zamanı mı tüketiyorum? Saatte 15$ mı? Taco Bell’de mi çalışıyorsunuz?
Umutsuzluğum çok büyük ve her Pazar gecesi işe geri dönmenin stresi beni fiziksel olarak hasta ediyor.

I’m really sorry you’re in this spot, it’s brutal when the ladder you were climbing just disappears. If you can swing even a small pivot, look for adjacent roles where your inspection background translates, like construction QA, owner’s rep coordination, estimating, or document control. A lot of those are listed as remote or hybrid now, but job boards are full of ghost posts and recruiter spam, so it’s easy to waste time. If you want a low effort filter for legit remote admin type stuff while you keep applying, wfhal​er​t is a simple email service that sends verified remote jobs like customer support and admin work, it won’t fix everything, but it can surface a few real leads without burning your evenings. Also, reach out directly to local GCs and firms you used to interact with, even if they aren’t posting, sometimes the backdoor gets you a call when the front door is jammed.
How old is the teenage child? How old is the adult child?
Apply to jobs that pay more than $24/hr or are closer to you. The 1.5h each way is a big issue and if you can get the same pay where you live now it’ll make everything feel easier.

Same. Went from $90k a year to being offered $3.35 an hour to waitress. 20 years experience, awards and now…just crickets
No advice at the moment just letting you know you’re not alone. Lots of experience here but hiring has been a nightmare. Don’t loose hope. We made it out of 2008 we’ll make it out of this.
