Buradan nereye gideceÄŸim?
Şu anda psikoloji alanında lisans eğitimimi bitirmek üzereyim. Bu diplomayı almanın sonuçta zaman kaybı olduğunu bilsem de, sadece bitirmek istiyorum ve en azından elimde bir lisans diplomam olduğunu söylemek istiyorum. Beni burada yol ayrımına getiren bu konuda ruh sağlığı ya da psikoloji alanına girme gibi bir planım yok. Şu anda istatistik ya da bilgi sistemleri olmak üzere çeşitli yüksek lisans programlarına başvurdum. Dürüst olmak gerekirse, bana iş güvenliği ve ileriye dönük yaşanabilir maaş sağlayacak bir kariyer istiyorum (mavi yakalı iş yok).
Buradan nereye gideceğimden emin değilim çünkü bu psikoloji diplomasının bana hiçbir şekilde düzgün bir iş getirmeyeceğinin tamamen farkındayım. Bu noktada yüksek lisansı tamamlamam ya da ikinci bir lisans diploması almam ve almaktan çekinmediğim darbeyi almam gerekiyor. Yapmak istediğim şey açısından, en çok ilgilendiğim iki şey ya veri analitiği ya da proje yönetimidir, ancak bu rollerden herhangi birini yüksek lisans derecesine sahip olmadan nasıl üstleneceğime dair hiçbir fikrim yok. Burada sağlam ve bilge tavsiyeler arıyorum.

With an undergraduate degree in psychology, you have two options: first, get a masters. You know that one already. Unless that is literally zero cost for you, and I mean your housing and living expenses as well, zero dollars, I wouldn’t do it. Spending a couple of years out of the workforce just delays a lot of what you really need to learn, which is what you enjoy.
To figure out what you enjoy, and no one likes hearing this, start by writing down everything you were passionate about as a child. Books you loved, places you liked going, ideas that excited you. And I don’t mean think about them. I mean write them down. You need a list to work with.
Once you’ve got at least 20 things on that list, you can start figuring out work that overlaps with those things you’re excited about. This might not be sexy work. it’s important that you get exposure to the industries that excite you, so that you can start learning exactly what the real dream jobs look like, and how people got there.
