Başka seçeneğim yok gibi göründüğünde orduya 24 (f) olarak katılmalı mıyım?
Bunu bir süredir, özellikle de şu anda iş piyasasının ne kadar zor olduğu ile düşünüyordum. Bu yüzden orduyu – özellikle Hava Kuvvetleri’ni – eÄŸitim maliyetlerini karşılamaya yardımcı olacak ve bana istikrarlı bir gelecek oluÅŸturma ÅŸansı verecek olası bir yol olarak düşünmeye baÅŸladım.
Başka biri böyle bir şey yapmayı düşünen mi, ya da gerçekten onunla yaşıyor mu? Bunun akıllı bir hareket gibi görünüp görünmediğine veya orada daha iyi seçenekler olup olmadığına dair herhangi bir tavsiyeyi gerçekten takdir ediyorum.
Ve sadece kimse bahsetmeden önce açıklığa kavuÅŸturmak için – zaten topluluk kolejine baktım. Ne yazık ki, benim bölgemde hemÅŸirelik programı bekleme listeleri yaklaşık 2-3 yıldır ve dürüst olmak gerekirse, gerçekten bu kadar beklemek istemiyorum.

One of my best friends in undergrad had a History degree. He was working at an Electronics Boutique (got bought out by Gamestop) for 2 years post degree, and it sucked. He went to OCS in the Navy and built a solid career, recently retired, and is living a great life in Japan.
Air Force is the least ‘military’ of the military, but Army and Navy offer many medical opportunities, and will even pay for things like med school, or for you to become a Nurse Practitioner…
If you don’t currently have a degree, they will pay for you to get one.

I can tell you this much, if you go navy and want to do medical you will be a corpsman. You don’t necessarily get to pick what kind of corpsman you get to be. You could end up being a dental or radiological tech. The closest thing to a nurse that the navy has are the officers who are actual nurses and the independent duty corpsman (IDC). I don’t really know the specific processes for either because I was not a corpsman but those are things to consider.
You could also do something totally unrelated to medical, do the shortest contract possible (4 years) and then use your GI bill to go to school for what you want.
I was an Electronics Tech who got selected for Communications specialty, ended up doing a lot of IT adjacent stuff and got a bachelors degree in cybersecurity doing online school while I was in. After deciding that it’s not for me, I’m pivoting to an electrician apprenticeship and using my GI bill to assist financially.
I’ve heard a lot of times that Air Force doesn’t like to recruit just anybody. It can be competitive. But you can always go to every recruiter office in your area until someone decides to work with you.
Also, watch tons of videos of other people’s accounts from their time in. Research everything. Don’t let a recruiter steer you away from what you want.
