3,5 yıldır kariyer iÅŸi olmadı – buradan nereye gideceÄŸim?
Herkese merhaba, tamamen kayboldum ve geçen hafta bana çok geride kaldım.
32 yaşındayım ve bir "kariyer işi" 3.5 yıl içinde. Bir sunucu/barmen olarak çalışıyorum ve zaman benden kaçtı. Şimdi tamamen berbat olduğumu hissediyorum. Birinin önerisi varsa, bunu çok takdir ediyorum.
Arka plan: 2019’da tamamladığım bir gazetecilik derecem var. Daha sonra bir finans giriÅŸiminde bir iletiÅŸim stajyeri olarak iÅŸe alındım ve sonunda iletiÅŸim uzmanına geçtim. Covid vurulmadan önce bir yıl boyunca orada çalıştım ve ÅŸirket katlandım. Neyse ki, iÅŸ arkadaÅŸlarımdan biri beni daha fazla deneyim kazandığım ÅŸirketi için serbest çalışmam için iÅŸe aldı, ancak iyi ödeme yapmadı. 2021’de nihayet alkol bağımlılığımla yüzleÅŸmek için rehabilitasyona gittim ve yaklaşık altı ay boyunca iyileÅŸmek için çalışmadım. Daha sonra bir yaratıcı tasarım firmasında iletiÅŸim uzmanı olarak iÅŸe alındım ve öncelikle bir baÅŸlangıç ​​müşterisinde çalıştım. Sekiz ay sonra iÅŸten çıkarmalar vardı ve maalesef iÅŸten çıkarılanlardan biriydim. Kolay para olduÄŸu için hizmet/barmenlik için geri döndüm ve iÅŸlerin nasıl gittiÄŸine gerçekten zarar verdim. Åžimdi yıllar geçti ve ne yapacağımı bilmiyorum.
Tek gördüğüm iş piyasasının ne kadar kötü olduğu; Özgeçmişimde oldukça büyük bir boşluk var ve ayrıca endüstri hakkındaki bilgim acı çekti. Sadece okula geri dönüp bir yüksek lisans almam, özgeçmişime yalan söylemem, başka bir şeye dönmem ya da sadece misafirperverlik endüstrisinde çalışmaya devam edip etmem gerektiğinden emin değilim. Gerçekten misafirperverlik endüstrisinden ayrılmaya çalışıyorum, tamamen yanıyorum. Kendimi tamamen umutsuz hissediyorum. Herhangi bir fikir takdir edilecektir.

What is so bad about being a bartender or a server? Do you enjoy what you do? I have no hospitality experience whatsoever just like barista and grocery store experience. And I really wanted to be a bartender but couldn’t because of a lack of experience. Don’t you need to start out as a busser too?
I had a journalism degree in my twenties, couldn’t find work after 2001 recession. Same issue, hated not finding anything, got turned down for a gym membership position after 3 interviews with them. (Wtf) they hired a guy from golds, no degree. But I had been running my own production business, did corp training videos for leather man tools, local growers, etc. was still working in restaurants part time.
Point is – I went and got a doctorate because there was no other way to learn, grow, use my intelligence. I became a physician. With the debt to show for it. Not sure if I would do it again due to the shit show healthcare is now. Graduated 2008 – new recession, worse this time.
I’m not telling you what to do. I know nothing about your ambitions, strengths, etc. what I’m showing you is that we all convince ourselves we should push for more, or we are missing out. I had the nice house, drove the Mercedes, did the big life stuff and what I should have done is not go to school, stay living with my mom, save as much as possible and put it in the market or bonds or anything really, and my net worth would be way more than it is now.
All avenues are failing. They should pays us to become nurses and doctors. Right? Pay us to be EMTs. The next housing slump will crush plumbers and electricians, which everyone online says you should be, not realizing boomers are dying and we will forever have too many homes free.
I am not joking. Drive a garbage truck. Find something very stable and very needed if you can. That’s the best choice because some shit is coming and there are too many broken career paths to see what is worth all that effort, time, and money.

The job market is definitely getting worse. First time in several years where the unemployed outnumber available jobs. Have you ever considered writing, even as a part time gig? Or maybe seeing how you can get accredited to teach, there is a shortage in most of the country.
I wonder if you can join an organization as a communications or marketing volunteer — something to show that you’re back on track and serious about resuming your career.
If interested, I can send you a volunteer position that I’ve been tempted to do, but can’t because I want to focus my efforts on coaching.
