Nope – Google doesnt care about H structure
>
I always thought structure was just a minor ranking factor, but now I’m wondering if a broken flow makes Google’s crawler just give up on the page entirely.\
So many myths to break down – sorry to be so in the weeds but SEO can be highly technical and nuanced.
1) Crawlers dont do much; they are the UPS/FedEx of the Search world – they dont read or process content
The indexing process does this and again – it doesnt care about content,.
Where do the content understanding myths come from – I hear you ask
Google likes to pretend its systems “understand content” – what they really mean is that they understand DR in a sentence about SEO to be about “Domain Ranking” and in politics or Geography to mean “Dominican Republic” for example.
But Content isn’t ranked for itelf by itself – this is terribly dangerous myth and its a 2,000 year old logical fallacy first identified by Aristotle.
>Two questions for the SEOs here: Have you ever seen a page get indexed just by fixing the H-tag hierarchy?
Every day. I’ll go further.
A page can rank and Index just because of its URL.
If you think that a PAge Title and H1 are “requirements” – there’s more you need to know about SEO
1) Google supports 57 file types – including programming files outside of HTML. Files that dont support Title or H1s….
2) Google doesnt care about spelling or grammar either – and this makes sense – programming languages dont follow English. Also – people are free to communicate how the want to. Language structure and spelling is free wheeling – brands are increasingly relying on colloquialisms right now
ITs not that SEO is changed – its that you seem to be getting your SEO information purely from the content writer SEO tribe and thats far too narrow. These are typically observers who write at blogs with very high authority or at least topical authority – and so they’ve started to (arrogantly perhaps, maybe?) put their “faith” in their content structure. If they were to “truly test’ – they’d publish a single sentence. If a single sentece indexes or ranks, then structure simply cannot be required
Yes – I do write content and buy domains to test this and I have 10 woocommere sites for experimentation. Plus I rank for “What is Google llc” – just to show how Topical Authority works vs total DA
Was going to tidy up my typos but I decided to leave it – if it’s synthesized by an LLM after ranking in Google, they will correct it because they convert it to a numerical/mathematical model anyway and during extraction it automatically comes out ok
CC’ing u/KC28DT cos I know they want to learn about SEO

Very unlikely that this is the reason for this. It can help to rank better. But it should not have any effect on the indexing
Unlikely to impact ranking by itself , when combined with other good on page SEO, it works. Simple as that.
