If you’re going DIY… skip the big generic PR wires unless you have a big budget and a newsworthy angle for mainstream media.
For a niche like mountaineering… you’ll get better ROI targeting outdoor & adventure publications directly, using HARO/Help a Reporter, and building a list of editors/writers in that space.
You can still use affordable wire options like EIN Presswire or IssueWire to cover the SEO/distribution side… but the real wins will come from personal outreach to the right outlets.
