Hey, is blog commenting and forum posts still a thing? I did this in around 2011 for an onlineshop and it worked quite well. Today I would not do it anymore because of spam and missing context. Need to get back into SEO again

Chasing ‘high DA lists’ won’t help much—DA isn’t Google’s metric. Go for relevance + sites with real traffic. Quick plan:
1. Run competitor backlink gap in Ahrefs/SEMrush → filter dofollow, DR 30–70, traffic >1k → replicate angles.
2. Build one linkable asset (original data/tool/stats page) and pitch via Connectively/HARO/Qwoted + journo Twitter.
3. Resource-page outreach with operators: `intitle:resources` `inurl:links` “your topic”.
4. Broken-link building + unlinked-mention reclamation.
5. If local, do citations/partnerships. Blog comments/forums = low impact—focus on the above for fewer, better links.
