One thing that has worked well for me is focusing on creating pages specifically for linkable assets. In your case, the calculators you’ve built could be a great fit. Tools like that tend to attract backlinks naturally because they solve a real problem. I’d recommend making dedicated pages for them so people are more likely to reference and share them in their own content.
Resort to backlink exchange and cross-page reciprocal backlinks.
Build your site to link outward, and people will link to you in return.
In life, we give, and receive.
Or… buy them.
But if someone is telling you to create content others will link to for free, they are lying to you.
You might want to check out or Google “OpenCoffee Clubs” for SEO and creating real relationships and mirror that with real life backlinks.
You can just email people that own/manage websites and ask nicely until you build your own network
Hi, glad to hear you’re enjoying SEO and your blogging journey :).
Link building is indeed one of the most challenging aspects of SEO to get onto as a beginner.
Having said that here are few strategies that work in my link building service. None of these are guaranteed to work, but I have seen success with them.
1. Broken link building – doesn’t work as well as it used to, but it still works. The trick is to not rely on broken link checkers, but also manually look for broken links and redirects.
2. Link exchanges. Open ABC link exchanges are best, where you work with someone who has more than one site. They link to you from one of their sites, you link to their other site. This works, but make sure you don’t rely on link exchanges too much. Mix up your strategies.
3. Guest post outreach. Definitely numbers game, but it still works. Many blogs will demand money for links though. Up to you what you want to do with that.
4. Sponsoring local groups/ events etc. Just make sure you get follow links in the package.
5. Networking. This is a big one, get out there and network with people in your niche. Arrange link exchanges, and link to each other!
6. HARO/ Qwoted etc. – Again, numbers game, but still works to get some media links.
7. Press releases. Do something newsworthy and run a press release. Again used to work better, but I’m still seeing a lot of success with this when done right.
8. Link bait content – build statistics pages, tools etc. That naturally attract links. This strategy works much better when you already have traffic, otherwise you do need to put in the work to promote your content.
Hope these methods help you get started! 🙂
