Ben bir İtalyan SEO’yum. 2022’de 200.000 € ‘dan geçen yıl 40.000 €’ ya çıktım. AI ve Google güncellemeleri beni harap etti. Hala iyi yapmayı başaran biri var mı

I’ve worked in the SEO industry in the US since 2010 — 10 years at agencies, and freelance for the last 6ish years. About 3 years ago I transitioned my freelance business to focus primarily on analytics consulting instead of SEO consulting. Previously the revenue split was about 80/20 SEO/analytics, but now it’s the opposite. My gross revenue in 2022 was about $80k. This year it’s looking like I will break the $200k mark by November (about $50k-$60k of which goes to subcontractors).
I’ve found that many clients have worse issues with analytics than SEO, and that by dialing in their data collection and reporting I’m able to cross-sell SEO much more easily. On top of that they trust my recommendations more because I’m better able to show them what’s working or not for *all* of their marketing efforts, SEO included, with my analytics skills.
I’m really thankful that the SEO manager at my first agency job *insisted* that I get Google Analytics certified.
If your SEO revenue is falling, consider diversifying your skills and service offering. I strongly suspect that things are only going to get worse for SEO as AI continues to evolve.
You’re going to hear mixed reviews from SEOers depending on which industries they work with. I think it used to be quality over quantity but now I’m starting to feel it’s both quality and quantity especially with ai improving content processes.
Absolutely.
