Sub Reddit’teki gönderileri okumak hem çok iç karartıcı hem de çok rahatlatıcıdır, sadece herkesin aynı teknede olduğunu görmek için. Benim durumum hiç farklı değil. 26 yaşındayım, filmde tamamen işe yaramaz hale gelen bir derecem var. Tutkulu olduğum tek şey olduğu için görsel efektler ve film düzenleme yapmak istedim. Üniversitem beni sadece zamanım ve paramdan soymakla kalmadı, bana istediğim iş için bilmem gereken hiçbir şey öğretti. Bu sektörde kimsenin bağlantıları olmadan ve dış kaynaklı çalıştırma ve AI devralma ile doygunluktan fazla bir iş bulamadığıyla birleştirin, tamamen bir işin dışındayım.
Kendime, kariyer olarak ne yapacağımdan ne kadar nefret ettiğim önemli değil, şimdi aklımı koymaya başlamam gerektiğini ya da asla merdivene tırmanabileceğim noktaya gelmeyeceğim. Hala yapmaya çalıştığım orduya devreye girmeyi düşündüm, ancak süreç uzun ve oldukça rekabetçi. Bence birçok insan aynı fikre sahipti. Ordu, aynı teknede kaç kişinin olduğu için çok seçici olabilir. Sahip olmadığım liderlik deneyimi olan yüksek nitelikli adaylar arıyorlar. Hala elbette deniyorum, ama garantili değil ve karanlıkta bir atış.
Her birine başarılı veya hatta orta düzeyde nasıl başladıklarını sorduğumda, bana bazı saçmalıklar “Kendim Yaptım” cevap vermezler. Hayır, hangi dersleri aldığını bilmek istiyorum? Bunu nasıl yaptın?
Bu noktada çok umutsuzum, tekrar arabamda yaşamaya başlamak üzereyim. Sert önlemler almaya hazırım. Okula geri dönün, bir iş programı başlatın, her şey.

Avukat olmak için okula geri dönmeli miyim? Bir hemşire? Şimdi hangi işler gerçekten para kazanıyor? Hayatımı değiştirmek anlamına gelirse öğrenci kredilerinin dağlarını çıkarmaya hazırım. Cömertçe yaşamak istemiyorum. Sadece yaşamak için yeterli para kazandığım normal bir iş istiyorum.

You have. Great attitude in understanding that work is sort of always a ladder. Find a job you want and look to that company to support your other aspirations. I.e. if you work at a college doing whatever and know they make promotional videos which would be more in line with your degree, do well enough at whatever other job you have to be in the candidate poll for a job more in line with your interests and education.

There’s a massive demand for content creation (AKA film) and video editing. Even with the rise of AI, someone still needs to do the work of creating the videos. The two main functions of businesses nowadays is product + marketing, you should focus on marketing because that’s where all the video creation is at.
The people I know and came up with who have made careers in film (and similar story for music) *made* connections by doing lots of film stuff wherever they could. Public Access TV (probably a dated suggestion at this point), YouTube shorts, film competitions, shooting music videos, helping out holding cameras and editing etc etc and building their own little baby production companies and getting to know everyone they meet and being available to help and investing in equipment and trading time and resources and years and years of that go by and those are people who now have a good list of credits and get work and make decent incomes doing film. Again, same deal with a few friends who went into sound engineering. Creative jobs like that, you’re mostly not going to send in a resume and go interview. But that doesn’t mean you should not try.

I’m serious. that’s a winning idea right there. I have to do some production work at my job and I’m really stupid at it. I’m just the youngest person at the company so it’s on me. replicate that out across the country, that’s a very real demand.
you could start by doing some pro bono work for local businesses and scale from there
Join the army.
You can do a master’s degree 📜 in STEM or HEALTHCARE if you already have your bachelor’s degree.

Those are great ideas but from my experience:
Do not go back into school yet unless you know for sure it’s what you want to do for long-term or even for life. Meaning: Do not spend your time, energy and money into something you might hate in the future.
An analogy would be buying a pair of shoes ~ don’t spend your money yet if you haven’t put them on and walk around them for some short distances.
So, in this case, I would think your best bet before spending money is to
1. Know what kind of shoes you want.
2. Try on different shoes before buying them.
But you have to be honest with yourself…
A. ‘what kind of life (or shoes) you want’ really depends on your values in life (try free https://personalvalu.es/),
B. what you are good at (not ‘amazing’ at, just ‘good’ at is enough for now) or try (also free) [https://high5test.com/](https://high5test.com/), and
C. what change do you want to see happen, or what pains you right now that you wish you can change.
This is not the full answer, I understand, but this should be good enough to get you started.
