   Get in with a staffing agency if you live in an industrious area. That’s all I have experience with, so that’s all I can speak to, but in all of them it was the same: I give them a list of skills I have, what I like to do, and what hours I was available. I got into manufacturing for over 10 years that way, and they typically love to train and upskill anyone both willing and competent.

   Those days, after I was trained and comfortable, I could go weeks without speaking to a single soul. Headphones, podcasts, and deep album listening for hours a day with regular breaks.

   You want to work with wood? As in like… wood? try and get into a carpentry apprenticeship and join the carpenters union (United brotherhood of carpenters). No college degree required.

   Just walk into a cabinet shop with a resume. Doesn’t matter if you worked in the industry. They want to see consistent work history. If they need the help … you’ll get a job.
