Never disavow backlinks if you cannot write a reconsideration request. Given that nobody can write a reconsideration request anymore, there is no use or valude in disavowing.

Google is a piece of software, even though people have been claiming significant capabilities with the use of LLMs. LLMs are not research tools – you can see how stupefying they are in AIO Mode and when you put factually incorrect information in front of them via SEO or AI SEO

The idea is to get links from any pages that rank in google.; If the page ranks in google you can assume Google trust or likes or values or whatever you want to use.
Only disavow obvious spam domains with no traffic or relevance, and focus on links from sites tied to your niche that can send real visitors.
You should only be disavowing backlinks if you have a manual action penalty from Google. There’s no such thing as “toxic backlinks”, it’s just something made up from some tool provider. Same thing with “domain authority”, those aren’t any factors that Google uses.
Personally, I try to focus on getting links on pages that are on-topic to what I want linked.
BTW, I think the future is in getting “brand mentions” and not just links. I could see us buying brand mentions, and not links in the future. But that may be a few years down the road.
