My honest opinion, none. Almost every career we know today is going to be entirely redesigned, uprooted, or non-existent in the next 10-20 years. If I were young right now, I’d be diving in AI tools, workflow automation, and AI Agentic solutions in order to learn how to design AI-oriented solutions to problems. This is going to be the way the future operates in my opinion, is that people will be leveraging AI to do their “jobs” for them while they oversee the AI operations, decision making, orchestration, etc. Build out your solutions, build a public portfolio there-in, and genuinely just solve problems.

My other 2 cents, Blue Collar all the way!! Skilled trades out-earn doctors, lawyers, and some engineers until their late 40s and early 50s, which if you are setup for retirement by then, then it doesn’t matter that other careers finally out-earn you at the point because you are set.

As an additional aside, the education system for the last 2 decades has moved too slowly compared to the real-world and that is only immensely exacerbated right now with AI as well. Look at the numbers, college grads have it the hardest right now but are also the most desperate because they are in-debt without being able to exceed the capabilities of AI solutions in many white-collar fields.

Nursing. All these people that are going into other fields are struggling. They are talking about lay offs, difficulty finding jobs, high competition, etc. You will ALWAYS have a job as a nurse. Even if you choose to do something else in healthcare (e.g., respiratory therapy, radiology, clinical lab science), you will ALWAYS be employed. I’m beyond thankful for listening to my parents when they told me to study Nursing.

All my friends that graduated with different degrees can’t find jobs. My friend got his Computer Science degree in 2023 and is doing back up acting for films now. I think he makes like $81 an hour, but he loves the free food they give him for each meal. He can’t get an entry level tech job. My Biology friend worked for Amazon for a bit, but quit and is now going back for an Associate’s degree in Life Science… My other friend who did Exercise Science got a job in tech for 3 years, but was laid off after. Now she’s doing all these networking events and conferences just to be seen and heard. It’s not easy out there.

I highly recommend anyone reading this to watch these types of videos on Youtube if you don’t know what you are doing with your life. These people that make these videos are speaking truthfully. Now is not the time to play around in college and study something useless and that will give you no job prospects after graduation. Good luck!
