But whether your users will recognize it is an entirely different matter.
As long as it’s truly useful and has original content, does not matter
Yes, Google ranks AI content, but with a huge caveat: it has to be genuinely helpful.
For a news site, pure AI generation is incredibly risky. The recent Helpful Content Updates absolutely destroy generic, unedited AI spam. News requires high E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness). If your AI hallucinates a fact or lacks a unique human perspective, you won’t rank.
Treat AI as an assistant, not a replacement. Use it for outlines or translations, but you must fact-check, add local context, and edit heavily before publishing. If you’re just copy-pasting raw AI text, switch methods.
