Build a website and test different SEO-related strategies. Be curious, make mistakes, understand the data.
You are mixing two different jobs and the tactics barely overlap. Ranking a site you own is measurable: set up Search Console, write the best answer to one question people actually search, link it from somewhere real, and read the data. The free Ahrefs and Semrush material covers the rest and it is enough to start.
Getting seen on Reddit or Quora is a different game, because keywords are not what decides it there. Most subs will not let you link your own site, so the play is to find the thread that already ranks for your topic, be the most useful reply in it, and let your profile carry the rest. On Quora the answer itself ranks in Google for years, which is why it is worth more than it looks.
If you can only do one, do the site track first. It is the one you can actually measure.
Did I transport back to 1996? Use gpt

I haven’t gotten to it yet but this course on [Google digital garage](https://skillshop.exceedlms.com/student/collection/649850-become-searchable-online?sid=6405e89b-14d9-4e37-a28f-0d76ea5e135e&sid_i=5) covers SEO and some related subjects.
At the least it’s a start.

You can get some free tutorials on Ahrefs and SEMrush.
one thing worth clarifying, seo for reddit and quora isnt really the same thing as seo for a website you own. are you trying to rank your own site in search, or are you trying to get visibility on those platforms specifically? different approaches
You can learn SEO for free. Start with Google Search Central, practice keyword research using Google Autocomplete and Search Console, and build a small website to test what you learn. For Reddit and Quora, focus on answering relevant questions genuinely rather than dropping links everywhere. You don’t need paid tools at the beginning. Consistent practice and real results will teach you more than just watching tutorials.
For the Google side, the free Search Central docs and Google’s own SEO Starter Guide are the closest thing to a primary source. A lot of paid courses are basically summaries of them with a funnel attached.
Google’s own SEO Starter Guide on Search Central is free and honestly underrated since it comes straight from the source. Pair that with the Moz Beginner’s Guide and a free Search Console account on a small site and you’ve got everything you need to start
Suggest searching for like “how can i learn SEO for [platform] for free” on Google and then looking at what is most visible organically, as it’s likely going to to be your most reliable source for learning, assuming it’s ranking highly because it’s trusted and proven. for example, if i do a search like “how can i learn seo for google for free” number 1 organic result is the SEO starter guide from google, makes sense. i’d start with that, you’ll also see a similar reddit thread to this where folks have already shared tips, could be helpful as well. Then you’ve got for example free courses ranking like one from semrush which is a reliable and trusted platform in the SEO community. I hope that approach offers some value! Good luck!
You can build your own website help some seo related YouTube video and use chat gpt and claude. and reddit is also best option to help any things.
